About Us

Our Mission

We are a Christ-centered, Bible driven church promoting the greatness of Jesus in Union Grove, Alabama, and throughout the world. We are imperfect people worshiping God by His grace and for His glory. We meet in small, intimate groups on Sunday mornings at 9 am to encourage each other through the Gospel. We worship together at 10 am, as we celebrate the power of the Cross and mobilize to impact our world. Our mission is to know Christ more and make Christ known!

A Note From Our Pastor

Greetings, my name is Greg Narrell. I married my high school sweetheart Paige in 1993. We have two daughters. Kacey and Grace. All three are an absolute blessing in life and ministry. I am a sinner saved by grace through a relationship with Jesus Christ. There is no other way to heaven, but through Him. I am a firm believer that God equips the called, not calls the equipped. He proved that by calling me to be a pastor; consequently, he uses poor and weak vessels. However, it is through our weakness that He reveals His strength.

As a pastor and minister of the gospel I feel there are two key details of pastoral ministry. Most important, everything should be Christ centered. Acts 6:4 gives instructions to follow. First, the praying ministry. Each choice in ministry should be covered in prayer. This verse reveals the pastor’s responsibility to be in prayer. If we neglect to be in communication with the Father we have no ministry. Second, the preaching ministry. The pastor should equip and edify the church to follow Jesus, according to His word. It is my conviction and interpretation of the Bible that every believer is called to go and tell others about Jesus. Without being obedient to this we are missing the very nature of what Christ accomplished for all mankind.

The church must not overlook the “Great Commission”. Acts 1:8 states, “You will be my witnesses.” It does not say maybe, it only says you will be. This is God’s Plan A. There is no Plan B. As children of God who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior we are very much a part of this calling. There is absolutely nobody immune or exempt from this calling.

In conclusion, we need only to look at one more verse of scripture. John 14:6 where Jesus stated, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, but through me.” This reveals our most important function as a church. We must worship God alone and remain in him through Jesus. We must respond in obedience by studying His word and telling others about Jesus. Faith alone saves, but faith that saves is never alone. It is my goal as pastor of FBC Union Grove, to lead by example a commitment to serve God when and where He calls to go.

In Christ,

Greg Narrell
